Auditions for the Young Players production of Guys and Dolls Jr. are set for April 9th and 10th 2017 between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Royal Theatre’s upstairs stage. The show will be directed by Daphne Shoppach with Matthew Glover as music director and Jeremy Clay as choreographer. Please email for an audition time with the name and age of the person auditioning. This production is for the early stages group and cannot have participants who have completed the ninth grade. Production dates will bebetween July 6 and July 16, 2017. Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive instructions on how to obtain audition materials.


Auditions for the Benton Royal Players’ production of “All Shook Up! The Elvis Presley Musical” will be held April 22nd at 10a and April 23rd at 7p at the Royal Theater, 111 S. Market Street, Benton, AR. Production dates are August 10th-20th. Rehearsals start in July. Director is Frank O. Butler. Musical Director and Choreographer to be named later.

These are open auditions – no reservations required!

Please prepare to sing 16-32 bars of music (chorus+verse). It can be music from the show. An accompanist will be present, so please provide sheet music. There will also be movement, so please dress accordingly, including proper footwear -NO FLIP-FLOPS OR SANDALS. There will be cold readings from the script.

If you are not able to attend auditions, but wish to be considered, you may submit a video audition to the director via FB Messenger. Please include a copy of your resume. Submissions end at midnight April 23rd.

“All Shook Up” is inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley. It’s 1955, and into a square little town in a square little state rides a guitar-playing roustabout who changes everything and everyone he meets in this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy that’ll have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel.”

The diverse cast includes –

NATALIE HALLER (Early 20’s): a mechanic.

CHAD: a great-lookin’, motorcycling, guitar-playing, leather-jacketed roustabout.

JIM HALLER (mid 40’s-50’s): Natalie’s widowed father.

SYLVIA (mid 40’s): the no-nonsense, African-American owner of SYLVIA’S HONKY-TONK.

LORRAINE: Sylvia’s 16 year-old daughter.- African-American

DENNIS: a young, awkward, aspiring dentist.

MISS SANDRA: the beautiful, intellectual caretaker of the town’s museum.

MAYOR MATILDA HYDE (mid 40’s-50’s): the town’s conservative mayor.

DEAN HYDE: Matilda’s 16 year-old son. He has grown up at a military boarding school.

SHERIFF EARL (mid 40’s-50’s): the law in town. A man of not many words.

MALE & FEMALE ENSEMBLE play an assortment of TOWNSPEOPLE – roles for African-Americans and folks ages 15-65!
